About Us

Our Story

At Wealth of a Woman, we’re more than just a platform for financial education—we are a movement dedicated to empowering women to take charge of their financial futures. Our journey started with a shared vision between two women who understood that financial empowerment is about more than just money—it’s about confidence, independence, and freedom.

How It All Began

Wealth of a Woman was founded by Teresa J.W. Bailey, President of Waddell & Associates Nashville and Senior Wealth Strategist, and Lauren Reed Williams, entrepreneur and owner of REED, a national PR and marketing agency.

The two met years ago on the day Teresa moved to Nashville, establishing both a fast friendship and a mutually professional relationship. Lauren took on Waddell’s PR needs, while Teresa provided financial counsel to Lauren and the REED team. Over the years, they shared many milestones and challenges of modern-day women’s lives, including growing families, navigating divorce, and managing career shifts.

The Vision

In Teresa’s work with women entrepreneurs, she became curious why such capable women leaders who successfully managed their companies’ financials felt so fearful of their personal financials. This led to years of studying and making the connection to coverture law.

These experiences were the catalyst for the creation of Wealth of a Woman: a space where women can grow, learn, and build a community around healthy, empowered relationships with money.
